PENGEMBANGAN MEDIA POJOK BACA SEBAGAI SUMBER BELAJAR LITERASI DI SD NEGERI 104/II SUNGAI PINANG KECAMATAN BUNGO DANI

Abstract

This study aims to develop a reading corner as a learning resource to support literacy activities among elementary school students at SD Negeri 104/II Sungai Pinang. The development of a reading corner is based on the importance of creating a literacy-friendly learning environment that provides students with easier access to reading materials and encourages reading activities outside formal classroom instruction. This study employs a research and development approach to produce a reading corner that is appropriate to the characteristics and learning needs of elementary school students. The development process includes identifying students’ and teachers’ needs, designing the reading corner, developing the learning resource, validating the product, and conducting a trial to determine its usability. Data are collected through observation, interviews, documentation, and assessment instruments involving relevant teachers and students. The developed reading corner is expected to provide an attractive and accessible learning environment that can support students’ reading habits and literacy activities. In addition, the reading corner is designed not merely as a place to store books but as a learning resource that can be integrated with classroom activities. The development of this media is expected to contribute to strengthening a literacy culture at SD Negeri 104/II Sungai Pinang and provide a practical model for utilizing classroom spaces to support elementary students’ literacy development.
